Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your computer, using a web account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to acquire money. On this account it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced enthusiasts are agile enough to pick the most beneficial game every instance.
Once the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their winnings, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
