Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be played in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a web account. The regulations are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will then be "distributed" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the enthusiast has selected which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each and every time.
Once the first round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the bettor an opportunity to increase their profits, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
